Course Overview

This course gives an introduction to hazardous/dangerous goods for handlers of dangerous goods and covers:

  • Identification and classification of Dangerous and Hazardous Goods
  • Selection of handling and storage techniques
  • Handling Dangerous Goods

It is designed to meet internationally agreed rules to ensure the safe transportation of dangerous goods by air.

This course is suitable for stores persons, administration staff, stock pickers, forklift operators and loaders.

It is intended for anyone working in the transport, warehousing, distribution and storage industries who may handle dangerous goods and/or hazardous substances such as:-

  • Operators
  • Ground handling agencies, which perform, on behalf of the operator, the act of accepting, handling, loading, unloading, transfer, or the processing of cargo
  • Ground handling agencies located at an airport which perform, on behalf of the operator, the act of checking in passengers
  • Freight forwarders
  • Shippers of dangerous goods, including packers and persons or organizations undertaking the responsibilities of the shipper; and
  • Agencies engaged in the security screening of passengers and their baggage
